Parent-Teacher Conferences:

Dear Families of Hillcrest High Students,

Parent-Teacher conferences are once again upon us. They will be held September 20th (from 3:30-7:30 p.m.) and September 21st (from 3:30-7:00).  We will be holding our Parent-Teacher Conferences split this year. September 20th will be an in-person parent teacher conference and September 21st will be virtual using Zoom.  On September 21st, In order to serve families more effectively, we have chosen not to have a strict schedule for our virtual meetings. Instead, teachers will be available in their Zoom meetings for the entirety of the conference, allowing families to join in at their leisure. If the teachers are in a meeting with another family, you will be placed in a virtual “waiting room”. Zoom does not have an option to let you know where you are “in line” in the waiting room, but our intention is for meetings to last no more than 5 minutes. As such, you should not be in a “waiting room” too long. If a teacher has not yet started the Zoom meeting, you will see “Waiting for the host to start this meeting.” If a teacher is with another family, you will see “Please wait, the meeting host will let you in soon.”

Parent teacher conference are:

September 20th, 3:30-7:30 p.m. (In-person)

September 21st, , 3:30-7:00 p.m.(Virtual Zoom)

Please reference your student’s teachers Zoom links here through this google document:

If you cannot open this google document because you do not have a google account, please open the document using your student’s csddocs account.

If you are unfamiliar with opening Zoom, we have included this tutorial on how to open the google document referenced above, find the teachers’ Zoom links, and open the Zoom website: https://youtu.be/J-ro2lubmis.

As with everything technology, there may be some challenges. If you experience technical issues, please call the front office and someone will get back to help you, 801-826-6000. Again, please be patient with us as we attempt to make this an enjoyable process.

New Bell Schedule:

Hillcrest High School has approved a new Bell Schedule that will officially begin being implanted on Monday, September 20th. Please review the schedule below with your students. We have sent this to all the teachers in the school and they will help make sure students are aware of the change. See bell schedule below.

Tiktok Issues:

Currently, there is an internet challenge called “Devious Licks” where students are stealing school property and damaging school property. We have had property damaged at Hillcrest High and we suspect this is because of this internet challenge. Parents please have a conversation with your students about this. We are hoping this discontinues asap.

Superintendent Listening Tour: CSD Superintendent Welcomes Questions, Feedback at Districtwide Listening Tour

Have a question about Canyons School District? Suggestions, concerns or compliments? Or maybe, after the months of social distancing that coincided with Dr. Rick Robins’ first year as CSD’s Superintendent, you’d like to meet him in person. Coming soon to a middle school near you: community members will have a chance to do just that as Dr. Robins travels the District for his inaugural Superintendent’s Listening Tour. The Town Hall-style events will run from 6:30-8 p.m. and take place at the following locations. Questions and comments can be submitted in advance or during the events at canyonsdistrict.org/voice. Just choose the “Superintendent’s Listening Tour” location from the dropdown list found on the submission form. Spanish-speaking interpreters will be available at the Indian Hills, Midvale Middle and Eastmont Middle events.
