Hillcrest Reminder
Attention parents and students: Hillcrest High School side doors are locked during school hours after the tardy bell has rung. Students, please ensure you are arriving to class on time. If you do not arrive on time and doors are locked, go to the main office to check-in.
Course Request Selection for the 2025 -2026 School Year
Attention all parents of students planning to attend Hillcrest High School during the 2025-2026. It is that time of year when students will be choosing classes for the 2025-2026 school year. Course request selection will open in Skyward on Tuesday, February 3rd, at 8:00 am. However, Counselors will be in all English classrooms to help students select courses for next year and help them maneuver the course selection process. Counselors will be in the 11th grade English classes on February 3rd and 4th, in 10th grade English classes on February 5th and 6th, and finally, in 9th grade English classes on February 7th and 10th. Additionally, counselors will be in classrooms at Midvale Middle School and Union Middle School on Wednesday, February 11th, and Albion Middle School on February 12th to help 8th-grade students with their course selection. Note that the course selection process will close on Thursday, February 18that 11:59 pm, so all courses must be selected by that date. Please see the Counseling Center if you have any questions. Additional information, PowerPoints, and instructions will be added to our website on January 31st.
Canyoneering Night
Please join us on Thursday, Jan. 30, at Hillcrest High School (7350 S. 900 East, Midvale) for an evening of meaningful conversation about education and student well-being. All sessions will be offered in English and Spanish.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Hear from Canyons Superintendent Dr. Rick Robins.
- Participate in three small group sessions of your choice on topics such as:
- Digital and Internet safety
- School Safety
- Suicide prevention
- Artificial intelligence in education
- Drug use and vaping
Schedule:
- Dinner: Served from 5:00 to 6:15 p.m. (Explore school resources and meet staff during this time.)
- 5:45 p.m. Welcome by Dr. Robins and introduction of school principals
- Class Sessions: Begin at 6:20 p.m. There will be an opportunity to attend three sessions.
- 6:20-7:00 Session 1
- 7:05-7:45 Session 2
- 7:50-8:30 Session 3

Senior BabyAds for Yearbook
Baby Ads Deadline: Due December 6th
Dear Parent or Student,
Yearbook Recognition Ads are the perfect way to commemorate achievements and celebrate milestones. In addition, revenues from Recognition Ads help our school create a better yearbook. To purchase your ad online, follow the instructions listed below. Jostens is responsible for our school’s yearbook ad sales. Please do not contact or send materials to the school. Please also consider our school’s ad content guidelines below during the creation of your ad online. All orders must be placed by 12/06/2024.

SheTech
SheTech is a unique experience for hands-on STEM experience for high school girls. Hillcrest will be taking students on Tuesday, February 25th. To register for the event, please click HERE. If you have any questions, please talk to Ms. Burbank in the counseling center.
Job Shadow Day
Job Shadow Day January 28th from 9-11 AM and luncheon from 12-1 PM
This year, Canyons School District will have Job Shadow Day on January 28th. Some of the sites available are at Lone Peak Hospital, Conyers and Nix Law firm and Avalanche Studios. Please sign up if you are interested by following the link on the poster.
Find out what type of job you want in the future and if you are a good fit. Students are to provide their own transportation and must fill out the proper documents to attend.
It is first come first serve so sign up quick to get a spot, they are limited. This will be the biggest job shadow day in years! Contact, Ms Burbank A139 cher.burbank@canyonsdistrict.org for questions.
