PTSA Updates

Hillcrest High PTSA makes important contributions to our school! We run Reflections, Husky Heroes, teacher appreciation, student service club, and more. We need parents, students, teachers, and staff to become members (for only $10 for the year!) so we can have successful programs, but PTSA is also a great network between families and the school, and we advocate for children at local, state, and national levels. Please consider supporting and becoming a member by following this link: https://hillcresthuskies.givebacks.com/shop Join PTSA!

At our givebacks store at the same link, you can also find our fundraiser – another great way to support Hillcrest PTSA. We sell a deluxe plush husky blanket that your student will love!

It is time for the annual Reflections Contest! The theme this year is “I Belong!” Students can submit projects in dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, or visual arts. Entries due October 29th. Learn more at utahpta.org/ref.

If you have any questions, you can reach us at hhshuskiesptsa@gmail.com.

Fall Schedule for Canyons Family Center

Register now for free parenting classes, student support groups

The Canyons Family Center has begun accepting registrations for its fall lineup of classes for parents and students. Located at Mt. Jordan Middle School, the Center is a free resource for all Canyons District families. Its licensed staff provide individual counseling and sponsor student support groups and parent education classes. Class topics range from how to cope with ADHD and anxiety to building self-esteem. In addition, classes can be taken to resolve student disciplinary records and fines. Families can also register for intakes for counseling services or referral to private mental health providers. “The Family Center is a place where families come together to discover genuine avenues to assist each other, connect with each other, and learn from each other,” said Canyons District Prevention Specialist Kelly Redican. Fall courses begin the week of Sept. 23. To register and learn more, visit canyonsdistrict.org. Questions? Center staff are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 801-826-8190.
