Attention all students! Arena scheduling will open for 2nd-semester schedule changes on December 17, 2025, at 8 am. Counselors WILL NOT be making schedule changes in January for your classes, so now is the chance to make those non-essential changes to your schedule. You will not be able to change yearlong classes or core classes. Arena will close on January 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Save the Date and Don’t Wait!

Weekly Parent Corner: Talking About Vaping

As part of our new campaign, “Clear the Air, Huskies,” to support families in preventing teen vaping, we’ll be sharing brief weekly resources from the How to Start a Conversation With Your Child About Vaping Guide. Each section will give parents simple, approachable tools to help them talk with their teens and stay informed.

Chapter Two: Starting the Conversation
When it’s time to talk with your teen about vaping, choosing the right moment and setting can make the conversation feel more natural and supportive. Chapter 2 of the guide highlights three simple steps:

  • Choose a time when neither of you is rushed or otherwise engaged.
  • Choose a place that’s free of distractions and interruptions.
  • Convey trust by reminding your child that you have their best interests at heart.

Even a short, calm check-in can make a difference. Teens are more likely to listen when they feel respected and understood.

Seal of Biliteracy

Can you speak more than one language? If so, consider applying for the official Seal of Biliteracy! This is a seal added to your high school transcripts showing a student’s demonstrated proficiency in English and a world language. Applications are open November 24th and close January 16th. Apply on: https://sealofbiliteracy.canyonsdistrict.org/. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Paulsen in the counseling center.

After-School Credit Recovery

Have you failed any classes? The first quarter is ending next week, and After School Credit Recovery begins after Fall Break. If you need to make up credit, now is the time! Please see the attached flyer for information. All students who sign up for this program will need to pay the $20 access fee for Accelerate if they have not paid it yet this year. This yearly fee can be paid in the main office. For more information or to ask any questions, please email tiffany.jessop@canyonsdistrict.org.
