Hillcrest Reminders
- Fees on Skyward: Class fees are now available in Skyward. Please pay these fees as soon as possible.
- Parking: Parents should not drop off or pick up students in the Southeast Lot. Should you find yourself exiting from that lot, it is a right turn only, which will be enforced periodically by the Unified Police.
- New Note Feature on ParentSquare: Hillcrest Attendance is excited to be offering note excusals for student absences to parents through our ParentSquare app! On that note, we would like to clarify to parents how the excusals for absences work. Please be aware that details still need to be provided. Please include the dates and periods that need a guardian’s excuse. We enter excusals authorized by guardians; excusals are still absences, the exception is the APP class. We do not excuse APP only. If you are sending a note to correct attendance, the first step would be to contact the teacher. If there was a substitute teacher, please be patient, as teachers add attendance upon their return. The attendance office can excuse absences within 10 days of the absence. Beyond that, it requires administrator approval.
Husky Howl and Halloween Reminders
Those students who would like to dress up for Husky Howl or Halloween Day are more than welcome to, as long as they follow the guidelines listed below. Regular school rules regarding the dress code must be followed.
- No masks or face coverings, props, canes, sticks, glow sticks, or weapon-like items are allowed. Fake blood or other substances that spill or cause a mess are also prohibited.
- Students may not wear anything suggestive or provocative. No underwear as outerwear will be allowed.
- Nothing that promotes the use of illegal substances or activities, derogatory or disrespectful, or portrays violence.
- Students must show respect to other students by not touching, defacing, or insulting other students’ costumes.
- Students must show respect for others by not choosing insensitive and/or offensive costumes to the diverse backgrounds represented by others at our school.
