- Welcome and Welcome new SCC members!
- SCC Elections
- Discussion regarding elections for new Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary
- Debbie nominated Stacy Timmerman to continue as SCC Chair for this year. Jeremy seconded. Voted and approved unanimously.
- Vice Stacy nominated Melissa Hodgson to continue as SCC Vice Chair for this year. Michelle seconded. Voted and approved unanimously.
- Stacy nominated Jeremy Hodgson as SCC Secretary for this year. Ashley seconded. Voted and approved unanimously.
- New Cell Phone Policy
- Discussed the new HHS Personal Technology Personal technology will not be allowed in the classroom/academic time, restrooms and locker rooms. - The first few weeks were a little rough but students seem to be following the
- Changes to TSSP Plan
- Due to changes made in the Legislature, students will no longer be charged registration Elective fees will still be charged. This is a loss of approximately $136,000.00. Brenda would like to allocate some of the extra TSSP funds where those funds would have helped the school, students, and staff.
- Brenda motioned an amendment to the TSSP Plan to allocate $1,500.00 for student/teacher PBIS rewards and $5,000.00 be allocated to teacher professional development if there are extra funds. Debbie seconded. Voted and approved
- APP Period
- Monday’s Academic Prep Period (APP) students will stay with their APP teacher for lessons. Students will still be able to visit other teacher classrooms Tuesday-Friday. There is no longer an APP software.
- All assemblies will be scheduled on Monday APP if
- Proposed District Boundary Changes
- The district will be proposing boundary changes for some of the elementary schools which may affect the secondary Hillcrest isn’t expecting changes.
- PTSA Update/Coordination
- Reflections theme this year is “I Belong”, entry due date is October 29th
- Putting together the parent/teacher conference dinner for
- Husky Heroes/student of the month program has
- They will be working on having a larger social media
- Will be doing a “bring a Legislature to lunch”
- The Student Club is in need of a parent leader. They are also looking for volunteers to assist with the good attendance hot dog lunch on Wednesdays from 9:30-11:00 AM.
- SCC Training Dates – Canyons Center at the District Office, 9361 330 E. All SCC members should plan to attend one session. Options include:
- Tuesday, September 9th @ 9:00 m. or 6:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 1st @ 9:00 m. or 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday, October 2nd @ 10:00 m. or 6:00 p.m.
- Other
- Stacey made mention of today’s event that happened at UVU and the death of Charlie Kirk. We send out sympathies to Mr. Kirk’s family and to all those in attendance of the event.
