Principal Message

Welcome Back, Huskies!

Dear Hillcrest Families,

Welcome to a brand-new school year! I am thrilled to see our students return to campus—some for the first time, others for their final year—and to feel the excitement that always comes with a fresh start. Each new year brings opportunities to grow, to set goals, and to build lasting friendships.

At Hillcrest, we are more than just a school—we are a community. We believe in supporting one another, challenging ourselves, and celebrating successes together. Whether your student is just beginning their Husky journey or preparing for graduation, they are an important part of our pack.

I am excited for the year ahead and confident that, together, we will make it a year filled with learning, achievement, and memorable experiences.

Let’s make 2025–2026 our best year yet—Husky Strong!

Warmly,

Brenda McCann

Principal, Hillcrest High School

Fall Schedule for Canyons Family Center

Register now for free parenting classes, student support groups

The Canyons Family Center has begun accepting registrations for its fall lineup of classes for parents and students. Located at Mt. Jordan Middle School, the Center is a free resource for all Canyons District families. Its licensed staff provide individual counseling and sponsor student support groups and parent education classes. Class topics range from how to cope with ADHD and anxiety to building self-esteem. In addition, classes can be taken to resolve student disciplinary records and fines. Families can also register for intakes for counseling services or referral to private mental health providers. “The Family Center is a place where families come together to discover genuine avenues to assist each other, connect with each other, and learn from each other,” said Canyons District Prevention Specialist Kelly Redican. Fall courses begin the week of Sept. 23. To register and learn more, visit canyonsdistrict.org. Questions? Center staff are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 801-826-8190.
