Parent Teacher
Parent-Teacher Conferences: We are looking forward to our upcoming parent-teacher conferences. These two-day conferences are a great opportunity for parents to connect with their students’ teachers and discuss attendance, grades, behavior, and any other concerns.
- Virtual Conference through Zoom on Monday, September 23rd (3:30 pm-7:30 pm).
- Teachers will be sending invitations for Zoom scheduling over Parent Square. Please schedule an appointment with them.
- Spanish interpreters and computer assistance will be available in person in the cafeteria.
- In-Person Conferences on Tuesday, September 24th (3:30-7 pm)
- Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic interpreters will be available and wearing vests. Spanish interpreters will be located on all floors in the middle of the hallway.
- Staff will be available in the cafeteria to assist with guidance to classrooms. Please use Skyward to find your student’s schedule, or the attendance office will be available to print schedules.
- All teachers will be in their classrooms unless otherwise noted
- Free Flu vaccines will be available in the Cafeteria
- Financial Aid information for Seniors session in the Presentation Room, 5 pm-6 pm

Financial Aid Night For Seniors
Dear Parents/Guardians, We’re excited to invite you to an information session on Financial Aid! This event will cover details on the FAFSA process, exploring college, scholarship options, and much more. Additionally, we’ll be available to answer any questions about financial aid.
Date: Tuesday, September 24th
Time: 5-6 PM

PSAT Exam
ATTENTION SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS: The PSAT exam will take place on Wednesday, October 9th. This is a great practice exam for Sophomores and can help prepare Juniors for the upcoming ACT in the spring. Juniors who score well on this exam may also qualify for National Merit Scholarships. To save your spot, you must pay $18 to the main office and take your receipt to the counseling center. You will then put your name on the list and receive the link to your Study Guide. For any questions, please contact Mrs. Williams in the Counseling Center.
Somos Hillcrest
Join Hillcrest in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on September 18th, 5 pm-8 pm. Free food, dancing, and crafts!
Homecoming
Students, Homecoming is on September 28th in the HHS Commons. Tickets will be sold during both lunches the week of the 23rd. Couples are $20, and single tickets are $15. Please view the school dance guidelines HERE. All students and guests must have their student ID to enter. If you bring a guest, please fill out the form available in the front office. Students who are on fee waivers, please talk to your vice principal to talk about reduced-price tickets.
DAWG Wednesdays
Hotdog Wednesdays are back! During the first quarter, students with perfect attendance n from the past week can receive a free hotdog during lunch in front of the auditorium on Wednesdays. Students, to receive a free hotdog: log into skyward or ask a staff member to look up your attendance, show your perfect attendance, get a ticket for a free hotdog, and then pick up your free hotdog! We will be giving away free hotdogs for attendance: September 25, October 2, 9, & 16.
Meet the Pro
Oct 10th is our first professional speaker in the Presentation room for our “Meet the Pro” series of lectures on career guidance and exploration.
Dr. Duncan is an alumnus of Hillcrest High and is excited to return and give back to his community. He graduated from BYU in 1992 and Oregon Health & Science University in 1996.
He has practiced dentistry for 20+ years. He has seven beautiful children, and they enjoy spending time in the outdoors. (Attached poster) Don’t miss Dr. Duncan on Oct. 10th. Tickets are being handed out in A139. You can also get a ticket by scanning the QR code on the posters in the building.

The student service club will be doing a food & shampoo Drive for the HHS Pantry – on Oct 15 & 16. More details to come.
It’s time for the annual Reflections Contest! The theme is “Accepting Imperfection.” Students can submit projects in dance, film, literature, music, photography, and visual arts. Entries are due October 24th. Learn more at utahpta.org/ref.

Donations
Our Hillcrest Free Market needs your help! Help us stock with our highest-need items: granola bars, canned tuna, canned chicken, 48oz bottles of cooking oil, and 2 lbs bags of white rice! Donated items can be dropped off in the Hillcrest Main Office or text Liz Demke at 385-351-4293

Farmers Market
Our Farmers Markets have started! Free fresh produce and pantry items available for students and their families on: October 2 & 16, November 6 & 20, December 4 & 18 starting at 2pm in the cafeteria.
Vision Clinic
We will be hosting a free vision clinic for students on October 8th. There is limited space available. Please visit A171 for a permission form or email elena.reyes@canyonsdistrict.org
Thanksgiving Assistance
Hello families, the organization “Thanksgiving Heroes” has opened nominations for home-delivered Thanksgiving meals on Saturday, November 23rd. Please fill out the form found HERE to submit your information.
This form is for families of Hillcrest to nominate for a Thanksgiving meal through the organization “Thanksgiving Heroes.” Meals will be delivered to your address on Saturday, November 23. Filling out this form does not guarantee you will receive a meal. We will send you confirmation that we have submitted your name.
