Assistant Debate Coach Needed
Are you looking for a way to get involved in our community and to help mentor a great group of students? If so, Hillcrest High School is looking for an Assistant Debate Coach. The assistant coach mainly helps supervise and chaperone students at weekend tournaments (generally 2 per month). An ideal candidate is someone who is flexible, dependable, and able to give positive constructive feedback. Public speaking and/or debate experience is preferred but not necessary. If you are interested, please contact Emily Kunz at emily.kunz@canyonsdistrict.org.
Club Rush
Are you interested in joining a club at Hillcrest? Club Rush is on August 31st and September 1st during both lunches. Tables will be right outside the auditorium toward the B hall. Hope to see you there!
Early Out Fridays
Every Friday in Canyons District will be dedicated to building the bright futures of students through high-quality teaching practices. Starting in August, all Canyons elementary, middle, and high schools will release roughly 90 minutes early on Fridays. When the week’s last school bell rings an hour and a half earlier than other days, teachers in all grade levels and content areas will spend the afternoon working in teams to enhance their instruction, strengthen districtwide core and elective programs, and increase student achievement. Classes end 12:03pm and Lunch is 12:03pm-12:33pm. Buses pick up at 12:33. All doors except main office doors will be locked, and students will not be allowed to stay in the building.
