FAFSA

The 2024-25 FAFSA is now open 24/7 for everyone; however, the website has still been experiencing some issues during its “Soft Launch” period.

Hillcrest will be hosting a FAFSA Completion Night on January 24, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Presentation Room and Career Center. The event is open to Senior students and their parents and will have volunteers available to assist with the completion of the FAFSA and answer any questions that may arise. Please be sure to have FSA IDs created beforehand (https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch). If there are any questions in the meantime, or any issues filling out the FAFSA arise, please contact the College Access Advisor, Halle Meckl, at halle.meckl@canyonsdistrict.org or (801) 826-6092.

Seniors interested in attending BYU in the Fall: Due to changes with the FAFSA this year, BYU has extended their FAFSA submission deadline to March 5, 2024.

Do you have a passion for science or math and an interest in advancing gender equity in the STEM disciplines? If so, we want you to apply for the prestigious ACCESS Scholars program at the University of Utah! ACCESS Scholars is a first-year research experience and scholarship. Application closes March 1, 2024. ACCESS is truly the start of a lifetime for any STEM major! This exceptional program has a 30+ year record of success and boasts a network of over 800 alumni.

The Opportunity Scholarship application is open. The Opportunity Scholarship: The priority deadline for the Opportunity Scholarship is January 19, 2024. You can submit the application for the scholarship by that date and submit the FAFSA no later than March 20, 2024, to be considered.  Students should complete the 24/25 FAFSA as early as possible, and no later than March 20th. Students can complete the scholarship application before completing a 24/25 FAFSA. The final deadline for the Opportunity application and FAFSA is March 20th.

​​Seniors interested in attending Snow College in the Fall: The Snow College Student Association (SCSA) is looking for new freshman Student Body Officers! The SCSA is a great way for students to get involved, make lasting friendships, build resume-worthy experiences, and make a large impact on the student experience at Snow. All positions receive scholarship assistance! The application is open now and will close on March 11, 2024. Yearbook Recognition Ads are the perfect way to commemorate achievements and celebrate milestones. In addition, revenues from Recognition Ads help our school create a better yearbook. To purchase your ad online, follow the instructions listed below. Jostens is responsible for our school’s yearbook ad sales. Please do not contact or send materials to the school. Please also consider our school’s ad content guidelines below during the creation of your ad online. All orders must be placed by 1/13/24.

Cultural Night Talent Show Auditions

Participate in our annual Hillcrest Cultural Night on March 7th by performing in our talent show. It is open to all talents and must be under three minutes long. To audition, please fill out the following form HERE and include a video of your performance by February 20th. If you have any questions, please email elena.foley@canyonsdistrict.org.

Chinese Class Fundraiser

The Hillcrest Chinese Class is raising money for their annual Chinese New Year Festival! Money raised will be used to purchase costumes, props, & supplies for the festival. Donations can be made through our online SuccessFund found HERE. For questions, please contact lian.feng@canyonsdistrict.org

Seal of Biliteracy

Juniors and Seniors! Can you speak more than one language? If so, consider applying to have the official Seal of Biliteracy added to your transcripts. Students who are proficient in English and a world language are eligible to apply for the seal starting November 27th. Applications close Friday, January 19, 2024. Applications can be completed online at https://sealofbiliteracy.canyonsdistrict.org/#/home. We are a Community School!

  • Our farmers market will start back up on January 17th at 2 pm in the Cafeteria. We will have fresh fruits, vegetables, and other pantry items available for students and their families. First come, first serve. 
    • January 17, February 7 & 21, March 6 & 20, April 17, May 1 & 15.
  • Our Hillcrest Free Market provides food, clothing, laundry, and hygiene products for our students and their families. Students who want to visit the market must check in to student support in A171.
  • Parents and families wanting to visit the Hillcrest Free Market will need to make an appointment with Liz Demke (elizabeth.demke@canyonsdistrict.org) Please be sure to check out our website or on Instagram @hillcrestfreemarket for updates.

PTSA Information

Hillcrest Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) is here to serve the families of our school.  

Spirit Night – Jan 25th at Café Rio Ft Union location 11:00 am – 9:00 pm. Tell them you are with Hillcrest, and they will donate a portion of the proceeds to Hillcrest PTSA! Lunch or Dinner! (see flyer for details)

Husky Hero Winners

Monthly, the PTSA names 2 students per grade as Husky Heroes. They win a prize package, including a Husky Hero throw blanket. The 2 Seniors will win a PARKING PLACE for the month near the main entrance.
