Thank you to our Hillcrest community for donating to our winter fundraiser. We were able to raise $22,275.83 in cash donations and about $2,500 in food donations. The Hillcrest Free Market is grateful to continue to serve our students and families with these donations. CHIP Application Event
Canyons District Medicaid Outreach Office is hosting an application event to help Canyons families sign up for a new Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The event will be held on January 4 from 5 pm – 7 pm at the Canyons Center (9361 S. 300 E). No appointment is required and is available to all children regardless of income status. Please allow for 30 minutes to fill out the application. Please see the flyers below for income guidelines and required documents.
CTEC Open House
The Canyons Technical Education Center (CTEC) is hosting an open house on January 4 from 4 pm to 8 pm. CTEC is an opportunity for Hillcrest Juniors and Seniors to learn technical programs during high school.
Visit programs for Business Leadership, Computer Programming, Construction Management, Cosmetology/Barbering, Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity, Digital Media, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Heavy Duty Mechanics/Diesel, Medical Assisting, Medical Forensics, Nurse Assistant (CNA), Pharmacy Technician, Physical Therapy, and Welding.

FAFSA
Hillcrest will be hosting a FAFSA Completion Night in the Career Center and Presentation Room on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Parents AND students, be sure to create your FSA IDs now (you can do that here: https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch) – it takes 1-3 days for your information to be verified in the system, and you will need that FSA ID in order to fill out the FAFSA form. Baby Ads Deadline: January 13th
Dear Parent or Student,
Yearbook Recognition Ads are the perfect way to commemorate achievements and celebrate milestones. In addition, revenues from Recognition Ads help our school create a better yearbook. To purchase your ad online, follow the instructions listed below. Jostens is responsible for our school’s yearbook ad sales. Please do not contact or send materials to the school. Please also consider our school’s ad content guidelines below during the creation of your ad online. All orders must be placed by 1/13/204.

Yearbooks
2023-2024 Yearbooks are available for purchase in the Hillcrest Main Office. Regular purchases for $60 are due by January 31st.
Chinese Class Fundraiser
The Hillcrest Chinese Class is raising money for their annual Chinese New Year Festival! Money raised will be used to purchase costumes, props, & supplies for the festival. Donations can be made through our online SuccessFund found HERE. For questions, please contact lian.feng@canyonsdistrict.org
Seal of Biliteracy
Juniors and Seniors! Can you speak more than one language? If so, consider applying to have the official Seal of Biliteracy added to your transcripts. Students who are proficient in English and a world language are eligible to apply for the seal starting November 27th. Applications close Friday, January 19, 2024. Applications can be completed online at https://sealofbiliteracy.canyonsdistrict.org/#/home. - Our Hillcrest Free Market provides food, clothing, laundry, and hygiene products for our students and their families. Students who want to visit the market must check in to student support in A171.

PTA Student Day at the Utah Capitol- February 13th, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.
Students, do you want to know more about how our state legislature works? Students tour the Capitol, meet local legislators, and learn about the legislative process. Monthly, the PTSA names 2 students per grade as Husky Heroes. They win a prize package, including a Husky Hero throw blanket. The 2 Seniors will win a PARKING PLACE for the month near the main entrance.
