What is UCAW?
College Application Week is a dedicated week at the high school focused on helping seniors take important steps toward their college and career goals. Students receive support with completing college applications, exploring colleges and programs, learning about financial aid and scholarships, and connecting with resources to help them successfully plan for life after high school.
What students need to bring:
- Charged Chromebook
- Personal email
- State ID or Drivers License
- Social Security number (to create FSA ID)
- Not required for college applcations!
Upcoming HHS Events
- Common App. Workshop: Wednesday, October 7, 2:30-4:00pm in the Presentation Room
- The University of Utah will be providing this workshop to help seniors with best practices for the Common App. The Common App. is used for many out-of-state universities.
- Utah College Application Week (UCAW): October 27-30
- College Advisors from all Universities and several technical and trade schools will be presenting informational sessions. Seniors will attend two.
- School counselors will be in senior English classes assisting students with the college application process.
- Students applying to SUU during UCAW will be entered into a raffle for a full-tuition scholarship. One recipient per high school!
- FAFSA Night: Thursday, October 29th 5 pm- 7:30 pm.
- Join us for FAFSA Night! Get expert help completing the FAFSA and have your questions answered. Parents and students are welcome! College representatives will also be available to share information about admissions, housing, scholarships, and more. We hope to see you there!
- SLCC Bruin Support Day: Tuesday, November 3, during APP in the Presentation Room
- For students who have applied to Salt Lake Community College for help with next steps and for students who need help with the SLCC college application process.
- SLCC Senior Conference: Friday November 13th
- Hillcrest Seniors are invited to attend a field trip to SLCC to learn more about the college resources. Please talk with your counselor or Elena Reyes (A171) for permission slip.
- UVU Student Ambassadors visit HHS: Monday, November 16, during both lunches in the cafeteria
- Student Ambassadors will be available during lunches to meet with students and answers questions regarding all things UVU.
