Hillcrest NHS Peer Tutoring

The Hillcrest National Honor Society is offering Peer Tutoring! If you are having difficulty in class, then you can sign up for Peer Tutoring! Peer tutoring will be offered Tuesday-Thursday and will be held in the IB room. The procedures are as follows:

  1. Visit www.nhshillcrest.org and click the request for a free tutor form. You must be an active Hillcrest Student to receive peer tutoring.
  2. Complete the form in its entirety
  3. Report to the IB room, C201, the week that you selected to begin tutorials and check in with the IB administrative assistant. Any student who has not requested a tutor using the google form will be asked to return to their APP class. 
  4. An assigned tutor will help you. You will need to stay in the tutoring session for the entire APP period.
  5. If you miss scheduled tutorial sessions three times consecutively you will possibly be removed from the roster. Notification will be sent to you prior to removing you from the tutoring roster. 

ATTENTION STUDENTS TAKING AP EXAMS:

It’s your lucky day!! We have extended the deadline to sign up for your AP exams. You now have until Friday, November 11th at 3:00 pm to sign up without an additional $40 per exam late fee. Sign up for your AP exams now to avoid those late fees. DO IT NOW! If you need help, contact Mrs. Williams in the counseling center.

Digital Citizenship

Hillcrest Free Market Updates

We have been so grateful for all the support we have received after being featured in a KSL news story this past week! To read or watch the story click HERE. The Hillcrest Free Market supports many students and families at Hillcrest including showers, laundry, clothing, hygiene, fresh produce, and pantry items. Our Market runs on 100% in-kind donations and community partnerships. This past week Intermountain Tosh Center in Murray and community members have made donations of snacks and pantry items! If you are interested in assisting the Market please see our page HERE or visit our amazon wish list ​​https://a.co/83QlSLK. We also have a fresh produce market on Tuesdays where we provide fresh vegetables and fruits. If you would like to support this fresh produce market we would appreciate grocery gift cards or donations toward our produce. All donations can be dropped off in the main office. 

On November 10th, 5 pm-8 pm, Hillcrest High School will be hosting its second annual Community Wellness Fair in the Hillcrest Commons (near the front office). There will be over 30 community organizations including flu vaccines, free haircuts,  health screenings, prizes, cooking demonstrations, medical, and social service resources. We will be having interpreting services for the following languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Pashto, and Kinyarwanda. We will be serving Cane’s Chicken dinner to the first 300 people at 6 pm! Thank you Canes! Join us for a great and informative night.

 

Hillcrest CrewNecks

Pre-order your Hillcrest crewneck now! They are $40 each and come in either light gray or black. Proceeds will go towards our winter fundraiser. You can purchase one during lunch with an SBO with cash, a check, or a card. You can also order online by clicking the following link HERE This allows you to pay through Venmo, card, Apple, or Google Pay on the Success fund website. When you click the payment link in the online order form, you need to click “donate now” and enter $40 then complete the payment process.  Our target arrival date for crewnecks will be before Thanksgiving! The deadline to order is November 11!

Senior Pennants

What is a senior pennant? New this year, a senior pennant is a FREE flag that will be displayed in the hallway for everyone to see! It will contain your name, Hillcrest logo, and graduation year. At the end of the year, you may take home your pennant for graduation memorabilia. Click the link HERE to submit your name for the FREE senior pennant that will be displayed in the hallway. You must be logged into your csddoc account. We are collecting your email, student number, name, and the name you would like on the pennant. The deadline to submit your information is November 11. Please make sure you turn in your information.

Husky Heroes

Husky Hero awards are given each month to two students in each grade who: Make a significant effort to help others, promote school unity, or overcome obstacles and improve themselves in some way.
