Alumni Association Fundraiser
Hillcrest alumnus Kent Griffiths will mark his 65th birthday this year by undertaking an ambitious endeavor to support the Hillcrest High Alumni Association (HHAA). Kent will traverse the United States on an electric unicycle to raise funds for the HHAA Scholarship Fund. Having benefited from the generosity of employers and educational institutions during his own academic journey, he is now committed to giving back through his Coast to Coast Challenge: One Wheel One Mission. His journey will commence in California on May 2nd, as he embarks on a cross-country ride to Virginia over a four-week period. Kent has pledged to donate $1 per mile to the HHAA – that’s $3,500 going directly to scholarships for Husky seniors. Each year, the Hillcrest High Alumni Association provides scholarships for Hillcrest Seniors and since 2017, has awarded over $96,000 in scholarships to 45 students.
Progress updates, including blog posts and photographs, will be available on Kent’s dedicated website throughout the expedition at 1wheel1mission.com
The Hillcrest High Alumni Association website can be found at hillcrestalumni.org
