Becca Remy’s Teacher of the Month
Our very own Hillcrest High School Teacher, Becca Remy, is featured as the February KUTV Teacher of the Month! She has dedicated many years to Hillcrest, and we are so grateful to have her here. If you want to see her be featured on KUTV, tune in to the KUTV channel on Thursday, February 27th, at 12 pm on the noon news, Thursday, February 27th at 1 pm on Fresh Living, and Saturday, March 1st at 5 pm on the evening news. Once they air, it will be posted on the website kutv.com.
ACT Announcements
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS. Wednesday, March 12th, IS THE ACT EXAM FOR ALL JUNIORS! Juniors are automatically signed up and do not need to do anything to register for this exam. They should however, set up their accounts at ACT.org if they want the ability to access their scores and send those scores to Colleges and/or Universities of their choice for free. Freshmen, sophomores and seniors WILL NOT report to school on exam day. JUNIORS MUST REPORT TO THEIR ASSIGNED ROOMS NO LATER THAN 7:20 AM FOR THE ACT EXAM on Wednesday, March 12th. REMEMBER TO BRING A FULLY CHARGED, SCHOOL ISSUED CHROMEBOOK, A PHOTO ID, A PENCIL AND A CALCULATOR. DO NOT BRING YOUR CELL PHONES. To see which room you are assigned to, please check the room rosters in the counseling center.
Mobile Vision Clinic
Utah Partners for Health will be hosting a free vision clinic for students on March 26th. The clinic will include a vision screening and glasses if needed. To sign up, please email elena.reyes@canyonsdistrict.org.
Big Smiles Dental Clinic
Hillcrest High School is Partnering with Big Smiles to offer in-school Dental Care to Students on April 2nd during school. There may be no cost to you if your child is insured with Medicaid or CHIP! Private insurance and self-pay options are also available. Big-smile’s in-school dental program saves you time and provides a safe and comfortable place for your child to receive gentle dental care from licensed local professionals. 6-month follow-ups as well! Services include a dental exam, x-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants. If necessary, restorative care such as fillings can be done. Please note that students must have insurance to qualify for this clinic.
Seal of Biliteracy
Students, if you applied for the seal of Bi literacy, the testing will be from March 3rd to 12th in the Careers Center. You will receive a note to excuse you from class so you can take the test on a specific day. For questions, see Jill Paulson in the Counseling office.
Cultural Night
Sign up to perform at the HHS Cultural Night talent show on March 12th at Hillcrest High School. Talents must be under 5 minutes long. Submissions for the talent show are due February 24th. The talent show is open to students, the community, and all talents. To sign up, please fill out the following form: https://bit.ly/CulturalTalent25. Incoming Freshmen Football Visit
On March 8th from 9 am to 11 am at Hillcrest High School, incoming freshmen are invited to learn about Hillcrest High School’s football program. Tour the facility, learn about the program, meet the coaches, and enjoy free food. To RSVP, scan the QR code in the flyer!
Uplift Midvale Logo Design Contest
Midvale City is excited to announce a logo design contest for the Uplift Midvale program! Whether you’re an experienced artist or just love to create, this is your chance to design a logo that represents the spirit of Uplift Midvale and win a $500 Grand Prize. Please submit your designs HERE.
Who Can Participate?
The contest is open to all high school students, regardless of experience or skill level.
- Must be a Midvale resident or attend Hillcrest High School or Jordan High School.
- Homeschool students must reside in Midvale.
- You do not have to attend a workshop to submit a logo design.
Contest Timeline
- Deadline to apply to participate in the Spy Hop Workshops: February 27, 2025
- Spy Hop Workshops (optional): March 13, 20, and 27, 2025
- Final Logo Submission Deadline: April 14, 2025
- Winner Announcement: April 22, 2025
Logo Design Submission Deadline
Please note that all logo designs must be submitted by April 14, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Any submissions received after this deadline will not be considered. Make sure to get your design in on time for a chance to be part of the Uplift Midvale Logo Competition.

Our next general membership meeting will be on March 5th at 1 pm.
