We Are Hillcrest!
End of Year Schedule
Parents and students, due to graduation on May 29th, 9th-11th graders will not have traditional classes on this day. All teachers will be supporting graduation at the Maverick Center. Study hall will be provided in the STEM building for students reporting to school that day. Busses will run at normal time and sack lunches will be provided. We invite all students to return the last day on May 30th for the last day of school, which will end at 11:00 am with no lunch service, given it is a half day. Please look over the following schedule outlining end-of-year events and the modified schedule below.
- May 20-22: Students will be turning in textbooks
- May 22: Last day for APP for students to make up tests and other graded assignments
- May 23: See the Modified Schedule below:
- Graduation practice in the main gym, 8:30 a.m.– 10:00 a.m.
- Traditions assembly starts at 10:10 a.m. – 11:18 a.m.
- Senior BBQ, after traditions assembly, west side by concessions
- One Lunch, No APP, Lunch will start at 11:18 a.m.
- May 24: Regular Friday Schedule:
- Graduation Practice in the main gym, 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
- Senior yearbook pick-up after graduation practice
- Locker cleanout for 9th-11th grade, 1st period.
- Locker Clean-Out Instructions: After roll call 1st period teachers will allow students to clear lockers. Many students do not have lockers. Teachers stay in their pod area and work with students who come that are to clear lockers. Locker cleanout will end at 8:45 a.m.
- Yearbook Students are released for yearbooks at the end of 2nd period. Lunch and Buses will be at regular times.
- Teacher Yearbook Assignments: 3rd Period all odd-numbered rooms
- 4th Period all even-numbered rooms
- May 25: Senior Dinner Dance, HHS Soccer Field 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
- May 28: Modified Schedule, no APP, no planned school-wide activities. Teachers will try and have this day of learning/review and makeup.
- May 29: Graduation 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. No formal classes. All licensed staff will be at graduation supporting seniors.
May 30: Last Day of school regular schedule. Buses will pick students up at 11:30 am
Open Arena Scheduling
HILLCREST STUDENTS AND PARENTS:
On May 6, 2024, at 8:00 am, arena scheduling will open for the 2024 – 2025 school year schedule class changes. It will then close at 11:59 p.m. on May 13, 2024.
If you or your student need to make changes, refer to the directions below.
Arena Schedule Change Directions:
- Login to Skyward Family and Student access at www.skyward.canyonsdistrict.org
- Click on the “Arena Scheduling” link under the student name.
- View your current schedule by clicking the “view/print schedule” link in blue near the top of the page.
- If your schedule looks good, you don’t need to do anything.
- If you would like to make a change, plan which classes to switch before you delete a class.
- To add a class, select “Search Options” and then click “Apply Filter” to locate a course by name, period, subject, or teacher.
- If there are seats available in the class you want, “Add” will appear. Click “Add” to put the class in your schedule.
- View your updated schedule again by clicking “view/print schedule.” Make sure all 8 periods have a class selected. This means if you have an “add class here” in your schedule, YOU MUST FILL THAT PERIOD WITH A CLASS – DO NOT LEAVE IT.
AP Exams
AP Exams begin Monday, May 6. To review the terms and conditions before exam day cb.org/apexterms. Please see the schedule below for the AP testing schedule.
HHS Summer School
Are you missing credit? Register for HHS Summer School! Each session is 8am-12pm Monday-Thursday in the Hillcrest Presentation Room. If you have questions please talk to your counselor or Mrs. Jessop in A173. To register for Session 1 (June 3-13) please click HERE. To register for Session 2 (June 17-27) please click HERE.
Busses from Midvale, Midvalley, and East Sandy Elementary will pick up students at 7:30 am and drop off at 12:30 pm.
We are a Community School!
We will have fresh fruits, vegetables, and other pantry items available at the Farmers Market at 2 p.m. in the cafeteria for students and their families. First come, first serve.
- May 15
We will be continuing our Summer Farmers Market on June 5th and July 3rd from 11 am-12 pm in the HHS West Parking Lot (near the playground).
Our Hillcrest Free Market provides food, clothing, laundry, and hygiene products for our students and their families. Students who want to visit the market must check in to student support in A171.
Parents and families wanting to visit the Hillcrest Free Market will need to make an appointment with Liz Demke: call/text 385 351-4293. Please be sure to check out our website or on Instagram @hillcrestfreemarket for updates.
