Principals Message: Shakespeare Competition:
We would like to congratulate our Performing Arts team on their excellent achievements down in Cedar City last weekend for the Shakespeare Competition. Well done!
Awards Highlights:
**1st Place Overall Sweepstakes (Hillcrest’s 8th Sweepstakes victory in the last 12 years)
**Every single piece that competed for Hillcrest placed in the Top 3 (the first time this has ever happened)
**4th year in a row that both the Hillcrest Stage Crew won 1st Place in Tech Olympics, and the actors won 1st Place Ensemble Scene
**All 7 scholarships awarded went to Hillcrest students (the first time this has ever happened)

Larry Lott Award for Best Actor in an Ensemble Scene (with $1000 college scholarship) – Jacob Ruplinger as Cardinal Wolsey
1st Place Monologue (with $500 acting camp scholarship for highest ranking underclassman) – Munashe Tanjani, “King John”
2nd Place Monologue – Serena Rogers, “The Two Gentlemen of Verona”
3rd Place Monologue (with $1000 college scholarship for highest ranking senior) – Jacob Ruplinger, “King Henry IV Part 2”
1st Place Duo/Trio Scene (with 2 $1000 scholarships for highest ranking seniors, and 1 $500 acting camp scholarship for highest ranking underclassman) – Porter Eldredge, Megan Oaks & Gabe Williams, “King Henry VI”
2nd Place Duo/Trio Scene (Film Division) – Aven Elder, Jaren Ruff & Ayana Srivastava, “King Richard III”3rd Place Duo/Trio Scene – Joseph Abbott, Josiah Hall & Robyn Otteson, “Hamlet”
1st Place Tech Portfolio (with $1500 college scholarship) – Ghoti Fisher

DONATION DRIVE- Deodorant– we are collecting deodorant for the Road Home Shelter. Bring your donations of men’s or women’s deodorant to the main office or to the football game on Oct 13th.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered to put up flags for the memorial service for SSGT Hoover. The Hoover family was very touched by the community support.
